HART PLAYERS ​welcome you to an evening ​of entertainment with a refreshed and modern production of Alan Ayckbourns MOTHER FIGURE & DRINKING COMPANIONS ​supported by ​our Edinburgh Fringe show of ​Agatha Christie's THE RATS.

MOTHER FIGURE by Alan Ayckbourn- Housewife Lucy has the difficult job of looking after the children alone whilst her husband is away. This role has taken over her life; so much so that she never leaves the house. Concerned neighbour Rosemary decides to come around to check on Lucy and enlists the help of her husband Terry to discover what is wrong. However Lucy, in her permanent state of the "mother", treats the pair in the only way she knows how, as children, naughty children.

DRINKING COMPANIONS by Alan Ayckbourn- The story continues with Harry, the husband Lucy in Mother Figure, on the phone at the hotel bar. The play continues with Harry trying to unsuccessfully flirt with Paula and her work friend Bernice, with whom he has even less success. He tries, some might say too hard, to encourage them to visit his room 249. Certainly Ayckbourn’s clever script might make you feel a range of emotions towards him!

THE RATS by Agatha Christie- Invited to a party in a London flat, Sandra Grey and Davey Forrester find themselves alone. Somebody knows about their affair and someone wants revenge… This production is Hart Players Edinburgh Fringe entry for 2024
